SafeFITS

SafeFITS is a road safety decision-making tool that uses data from real-world crashes to help identify and address potential road safety problems. The tool is designed to be used by highway agencies, law enforcement agencies, and other organizations with an interest in improving road safety.

Estimation Technique

The estimation technique is based on several factors, including the number of accidents, the severity of accidents, and the time of day. SafeFITS also takes into account other factors such as weather conditions and traffic congestion. The estimation technique used by SafeFITS is accurate in a variety of real-world scenarios. In one study, SafeFITS was used to choose the safest route for a group of students traveling to school. The results showed that the routes chosen by SafeFITS were safer than those chosen by the students themselves.
